Exploring the Iconic Movie Locations in London

London has been the backdrop for countless movies and TV shows, from classics like “Harry Potter” and “Bridget Jones’s Diary” to modern-day hits. And with its iconic landmarks, charming neighbourhoods, and vibrant culture, it’s no wonder that London is such a popular filming location. Before it’s time for some set-jetting, book yourself a luxurious stay at The Montcalm Club and stay close to places of cinematic relevance. So, if you’re a fan of Hollywood films and TV, or if you simply want to witness your favourite characters and stories come to life, be sure to add these London film locations to your must-visit list and who knows, you might even run into a celebrity or two!

Harry Potter

It’s almost impossible to find someone who hasn’t watched the legendary Harry Potter movie series. London is loaded with ‘magical’ places to visit but the 9¾ platform at the King’s Cross Station is where you are sure to relive the Harry Potter magic. Snap some mandatory brick wall pictures for the gram here and head over to the Leadenhall market, used for the Diagon Alley in the film, and not to forget the goblin-run wizarding bank scenes shot at the Australian High Commission in London, moments away from your designer and extremely comfortable London city suites.

Notting Hill

The iconic blue door on Westbourne Park Road leads to William Thacker’s home aka Hugh Grant. Interestingly, the original owners of the iconic blue-door house had to get the door painted black because of the massive attention it was getting. But who can blame them, right? Well, the good news is that the door is back to being blue from the classic romantic comedy, Notting Hill. In fact, the Travel Book Company owned by William is now a souvenir shop named Notting Hill (obviously) on Portobello Road. So, if you are planning a romantic getaway with a Montcalm Club package, don’t forget to add this spot to your list.

A Hard Day’s Night

If you are a Beatles fan, then you’re sure to love this one. From the chaotic A Hard Day’s Night scenes at Marylebone Station to the Notting Hill Gate chase and of course, Ringo’s solo adventure around Notting Hill, Lancaster Road, and Putney Towpath, you’ll get to see all the places where the Fab Four made their mark on the city.

Fun fact: You can even take a Beatles-themed train ride at the Liverpool Lime Street Station!

Spider-Man: Far from Home

If you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you’ll no doubt remember the thrilling climax of Spider-Man: Far from Home, which takes place inside Tower Bridge in London. The film’s heroes and villains battle it out on the bridge’s glass floor, which offers stunning views of the city below.

Reminder: Don’t forget to relish a good meal at one of the amazing West End restaurants, minutes away from Tower Bridge.

Bridget Jones’s Diary

Do you remember relating to the character of a 32-year-old, single woman in London as she sets out to find love, success, and happiness? If so, then you’ll be thrilled to know that the charming Bridget Jones’ Diary script with a stellar cast was shot all over London. The best part is that many of the locations are still standing today. One of the most popular filming locations is the Bedale Street Globe pub, which is located right on top of Bridget’s flat.
