londonLondon is a fantastic, large and multi-cultural city which has plenty of offer visitors and tourists.  Whether you are interested in discovering the history and heritage of London, want to indulge in some pamper time at one of the top spas or dive into some of the world’s finest culture, you will find all of this and more.  But how do you go about deciding how you are going to spend your valuable time when in London?  Read on for our top tips on ensuring that you have a successful luxury break in the city:-

Choose a great hotel

The first part of any luxury break has got to be choosing a prestigious hotel.  The Montcalm hotels are some of the finest 5 star hotels in London and offer the ideal base from which to discover the rest of the city.  Each of their hotels offers the best in modern amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, iPod docking stations, 24 hour room service and more whilst also offering the ultimate comfort for their guests with provisions such as a pillow menu for guests to choose their perfect pillow from.

Visit a Museum or Gallery

London is home to some of the best museums and art galleries in the world so it makes sense to plan some time to visit at least one of those on offer when in the city, especially if you are part of The Montcalm Club.  The best thing about the majority of museums and galleries in the city are that they are free to enter, giving you more money to put towards other luxury elements for your break.  We would suggest the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Horniman Museum, the Tate Modern or the Whitechapel Gallery.

Enjoy Afternoon Tea

No luxury trip to London would be complete without enjoying a spot of afternoon tea and there are a number of establishments in the city which offer this delightful service.  You can opt for a traditional afternoon tea complete with mini sandwiches and baked treats, add a glass or two of champagne in for an extra special touch or even book a themed afternoon tea if you have a particular interest.

Go Shopping

There is no better place to enjoy some retail therapy than when in London and there are a number of designer brands which have their flagship stores in London too.  Department stores such as Harrods, Selfridges and Liberty are a real must alongside brands including Prada, Mulberry, Burberry and Louis Vuitton.  If you want to wander around the most prestigious shopping areas in the city then you must walk along Bond Street, King’s Road or Mayfair too.

Relax

London is home to some world-class day spas and beauty salons so why not take the opportunity to indulge in some ‘me’ time and book yourself a treatment at one of these tranquil and luxury spas?  From signature massages to sumptuous facials there are plenty of ways to treat yourself in the city and unwind for a short period of time before you head out to explore again.
