Taking a trip to Liverpool Street

Liverpool Street, found in East London, represents the cutting edge of business in the city. In this post, we’ll be taking a look what makes Liverpool Street what is today, its history, and what visitors can expect visiting the area. Liverpool Street Station is the major railway and underground station in the district – interconnecting tourists and citizens to the rest of London – through the Circle Line, the Metropolitan Line, and the Hammersmith and City line. In the area, guests will find a few attractions including the Heron Tower, the Whitechapel Gallery and the Spitafields Market – perfect for a weekend out in London.

Liverpool Street Underground Station first opened in 1912, and was Central London’s first access point into the East side of the capital. Today, a huge population of insurance brokers, and bankers work in the financial district here, with plenty of office spaces and meeting facilities for corporate functions. Visitors looking for a more leisure type experience can visit the Broadgate Icerink and the plethora of niche bars and restaurants here.

But mostly, this is a place that’s geared towards the business traveler. Naturally, staying here is best recommended if you’re looking for potential networking and business opportunities. Otherwise, it might be better to stay at somewhere a little more central. Interestingly, the financial district becomes quite the ghost town on the weekend, so it’s probably best visiting during the working week. Although, rates for accommodation naturally tend to be more affordable on the weekend. The M by Montcalm Shoreditch London Tech City is one of the accommodations in the area – providing fantastic discount luxury stays.

The Bank of England, the economic beacon of the city, can also be found here. Additionally, a range of other luxury hotels populate the area. A 15 minute bus trip takes you right into Shoreditch High Street. Here, guests will find numerous pubs and bars – perfect for soaking in the British atmosphere on a night out or on a casual evening.

Besides that, the Heron Tower – with the Sushisamba restaurant on the 40th floor, provides guests with an astonishing view of London’s skyline, while they enjoy cocktails and numerous sushi dishes of their choosing.They don’t just offer a view from indoors as well – the venue has an outside patio, making the experiencing of seeing the sights of the city even more enthralling. Besides, the ride up in the lift is mesmerizing. Visit Liverpool Street this season to better understand the business world in London, while enjoying the attractions it has to offer.
