The Marble Arch by Montcalm London

When planning a trip to London, you have a lot to decide. What attractions will you visit? What will you pack? What restaurants will you make a reservation at? Fortunately, you won’t have to debate too much about your accommodation.

The Montcalm group has several luxury hotels in London, spread across the city to satisfy travellers of all types. The choice guarantees that you can make the most of the best London hotels packages, no matter which you go for, from Marble Arch to London City Suites by Montcalm.

So, which property is right for? We’ll tell you!

M By Montcalm London Shoreditch Tech City

Not everyone visiting the city is looking to explore the central landmarks, restaurants and areas and that’s no obstacle for those staying at Montcalm properties.

M by Montcalm London Shoreditch Tech City

M by Montcalm in Shoreditch is perfect for those looking for a slightly alternative city break. This east London area is best known for its food, nightlife, contemporary markets and pop-up culture. The rough triangular formation between Old Street, Great Eastern Street and Shoreditch High Street has become synonymous with quirky, independent bars and shops off the beaten track. Market-explorers should look no further than this property, as it is accessible to some of London’s most historic, well-loved markets, like Columbia Flower Market, Brick Lane Market and Spitalfields Market.

The area is great for those wanting to explore the underbelly of creative London and is littered with art galleries, like Modern Art located in a pre-war factory and Victoria Miro, a space for both established and emerging artists. It is also undeniably well-suited to those who favour a slightly unusual museum – while South Kensington offers up the likes of the Natural History Museum and V&A, Shoreditch is home to venues like Geffrye Museum of the Home, where domestic interiors are re-created from 1600 up until modern times.

Even those staying at other luxury hotels in London flock to M by Montcalm for a meal at Plate Restaurant – it is that popular. Between the modern design, mezzanine cocktail bar and big glass windows to let in light and energy, this spot is full of life and flavours. The food is British, but accented with a hefty dash of French panache! It is always bustling and open with an all-day menu of full or light meals to suit your taste.

M by Montcalm is certainly no exception to facilities like free wifi, an indoor pool and spa facilities, though it does not have parking availability. So, if your trip revolves around car transport, this may not be the property for you – there is likely another one that is just right, though.

London City Suites by Montcalm

Also know as The Barbican Rooms by Montcalm, these suites offer a 5-star experience that leave guests reeling at the level of luxury attainable. The combination of traditional decor with contemporary twists and flair makes the venue appropriate for those who like to do things old-school, as well as those who favour a modern space.

London City Suites by Montcalm

The London City Suites are a short two-minute walk from the Barbican Centre, meaning it is a great spot for those looking to engage in the art, music and culture that London has by the bucketload. Just an eleven-minute walk, though, and you will find yourself at The Museum of London, or London’s historical landmark, The Roman Fort Gate. It is the sister property of The Montcalm at The Brewery London City, which is across the road, so shares all the facilities and restaurant options with it.

The Montcalm at The Brewery London City

Across the road from The Barbican Rooms is The Montcalm at The Brewery, located in what was once a brewery. Given its proximity to the Barbican, it comes as an obvious right-move for those interested in art, culture and cinema – the Barbican is a shining beacon for these things.

It is not far off from another Montcalm property, M By Montcalm, meaning it is located conveniently close to all the markets and quirky entertainment options that the east side is famous for. It is slightly closer to the centre of London, though, so if you are looking for somewhere where you can straddle the divide between all the perks of central London and the cheek and edge of east London, then this spot is just right for you. You can be enjoying vistas of St Paul’s as easily as exploring an art gallery in a converted warehouse, making it a very popular Montcalm property.

It has been four decades since the last beer was brewed at this location, but it is still a fantastic place to grab a drink and some food. Chiswell Street Dining Rooms give off an old-school drawing room vibe, and lunch and dinner are headed by Michelin-starred chef Pieter Fitz-Dreyer, serving up British staples with bold flavours and experimental cooking styles. Your other option at this hotel is the Jugged Hare, which is a spacious gastropub serving up delicious seasonal food and bespoke wines. Private dining facilities are also available.

Arguably the best food-experience to be had at The Montcalm at The Brewery is their afternoon tea. There aren’t a range of options like the Montcalm Hotels and Montcalm Marble Arch, just the Traditional Afternoon Tea. However, they do this so well and with such delicate care and delight that it is all you need. It is served in the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms and adding a glass of champagne onto your order is strongly encouraged!

This is a slightly smaller property, which is exactly what some guests are looking for. It has all the basics in place – a delicious restaurant, a fully stocked bar, wifi and air conditioning. However, it does not have any parking, spa facilities or fitness centres.

Essentially, if your goal is to have access to as much of central London as possible, then this is the property for you.

If you prefer to spend a portion of your time within your hotel rather than in the city, then there is plenty to do without even leaving the foyer. Between The Marble Arch London and The Montcalm London Marble Arch, there are two restaurants, a champagne bar and a lounge. The Marble Arch London Restaurant is the in-house restaurant, where breakfast is served daily. The Crescent Restaurant & Lounge is a modern, classic, open-plan restaurant with marble floors and large skylights making space an inviting, welcoming dining experience. Head to the Nirvana Bar for classic cocktails and world-class mixology, as well as champagne and an expansive collection of whiskeys.

The Montcalm Royal London House

Finsbury Square is one of London’s best, bustling financial districts, so this property is perfect for those visiting the city on business, while still wanting to be close to potential cultural and entertainment districts. However, if business drinks and entertainment are more the variety for your trip, then this area is packed with chic, contemporary bars and restaurants that are perfect for classy, corporate meet-ups.

It is just a short tube ride away from areas like Bank and Monument, peak districts for not only business but sightseeing. Whether it is a walk along the River Thames, a cocktail overlooking Tower Bridge, a tour of the Tower of London, or a luxurious meal from one of the top stories of the Shard. Those with a passion for the water can also jump on one of the many riverboats that will take you along on either an exclusive booze-cruise or a more sightseeing-orientated mosey.

The Aviary Rooftop Restaurant and Bar in The Montcalm Royal London House is more than just an excellent feature of the hotel itself – it is an often-visited spot by locals and visitors alike because of its breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The south-facing terrace means you have got an all-encompassing view of the city skyline. If visiting for business, or entertaining for business, this is a great spot to bring clients and colleagues, as it is elegant and retains a real flair for seriousness amidst luxury and glamour. The food is sensational, with modern international dishes that can be consumed alongside a glass of the finest wine from an expansive but intensely curated list. If it is a Montcalm-moment you are after, this sky-high perch really hits the nail on the head about what this hotel chain is all about.

This top-rated 5-star hotel comes with all the facilities that make for a luxurious trip, including a pool, fitness centre, restaurants and bars and free wifi. The only thing it is missing is parking facilities, which is often not an issue for business travellers who are travelling from abroad and via London’s airports, which is why it is such a popular destination for business travellers.

Address: 22-25 Finsbury Square, Finsbury, London EC2A 1DX

Closest tube: Moorgate

Though it might seem pretty obvious by now: you can’t really go wrong with a booking at a Montcalm Property.

The question that makes the whole process a lot trickier is “which one?” Ultimately, you need to decide the purpose of your trip – are you looking to explore the city one restaurant or monument at a time, spend every evening in West End bars, or entertain corporate clients on a business trip?

Once you have that decided, the options become a lot clearer. Think carefully about the facilities that matter to you, either as an individual, pet owner or family and then make your decision accordingly, knowing that you are going to have a luxurious, 4-5 star experience no matter which luxury hotel in London you choose.
